Le Ballon Rosé Le Ballon Rosé is organically produced, but not yet certified. This is a dry rosé made from a traditional Grenache/Cinsault blend. The palate shows ripe fruit and a nice round texture upheld by lively acidity. A very summery rose that would pair perfectly with salads, white meat and soft cheeses. The Winemaking of Le Ballon Rosé Stainless steel fermentation. No oak used during the entire vinification process to enhance the fruitiness and freshness of Grenache in particular. Le Ballon Rosé: the Grape Varieties In France, Grenache (Noir) is most widely planted in the southern Rhône Valley and throughout both Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. It is most commonly found alongside Syrah and Mourvedre in the classic Southern Rhone Blend (notably in Cotes du Rhone wines), and is the main grape variety in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Grenache's versatility provides winemakers with all sorts of possibilities. Grenache-based rosé wines, like Le Ballon Rosé, are one of southern France's signature wine styles. On the other hand, Cinsaut vines have been grown for centuries in southern France, making it one of the oldest grape varieties found in the region. It is one of the permitted minor grape varieties in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend and widely used for the production of rosé wines in the South of France. The Appellation of Le Ballon Rosé The appellation Vin de Pays d'Oc is part of the region of Languedoc-Roussillon from France which include Le Ballon and its 6 cuvées. Spread over 42,800 ha, this region is 2.4 million hectolitres per year. Pays d'Oc is the IGP for red, white and rosé wines that are made in a large area on the southern coast of France. The catchment area for the IGP corresponds roughly to the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region – one of the largest winegrowing areas in France. The region covers all the wines that are not made under the strict laws that govern the AOC-level appellations in the regions: among them Corbières, Minervois and the Languedoc appellation itself.
